What it is:

Researchers nationwide are testing the effectiveness and safety of an investigational hair growth product, which is applied to the surface of the scalp.  The study will last 30 weeks with monthly visits to a dermatologist.  It is going on in several states across the country (see below).

The study has been approved by an Institutional Review Board whose task is to ensure the safety of anyone participating in these trials.  All participants receive examinations by a Dermatologist, can elect to discontinue the study at any time, and are paid for their time and trouble.

This study is testing the safety and efficacy of a new topical compound for male pattern hair loss.  This compound is chemically similar to minoxidil (Rogaine) in that it works by opening ion channels within cells.  The compound being tested has been shown to be 1000 times stronger than minoxidil as a channel opener / potential hair growth stimulant.

Who Can Participate?

If you are a man between ages 18 and 40 and have noticed progressive thinning or balding over the past few years, have not used any hair growth products within the past year and a half, have not had any past hair reduction surgery or weaves, and are in generally good health, you may qualify.
