"HairAware"
- Increasing awareness of women's Hair Loss
July 2001, New York, NY
Dear HairlossSucks: Many thanks for posting our
June 6 symposium info. The event went quite well
and was a good first in bridging the NY medical community directly with women
with hair loss.
I just returned from Miami this morning, where Hair Aware was recognized by
the hair industry and featured as a new organization at Haircolor USA.
Many good firsts for Hair Aware this week, with more to come. As such, here is some basic info on Hair Aware that you may want to post on
your website: Again many thanks and warm regards.
HAIR AWARE MISSION
Hair Aware: Organization for Women's Hair Loss, Inc. is dedicated to raising
the level of awareness and acceptance of women's hair loss through forming
strategic alliances with the medical, beauty and fashion industries and
women's health organizations.
Through Hair Aware, a much-needed dialogue will be opened that will address
the psychological, sociological and medical impact of hair loss in women.
The dialogue will be opened by and for women with all forms of hair loss on a
subject that was until recently rarely addressed.
Multiple dialogue platforms, both online and in public, coupled with high
profile and broad-based appeal awareness events, are currently set and being
developed. Launch activities for Hair Aware will include a series of
seminars and events in New York City and Los Angeles, as well as, an online
forum.
